Milestone, mediocre shmup specialists, are working on the sequel to the cel-shaded original. The first game has something of an interesting history, since it was supposed to get a US release as a Gamecube game, cancelled due to the death of the system.
It later got a release on the aptly named 'Ultimate Shooting Collection' along with Karous(another Milestone game) and Chaos Field, published by UFO Interactive.
Will they publish the sequel in the states as well? It'd be nice.
I am not really a fan of the original. I bought it to round out my Dreamcast collection; but the game is just...well as you said mediocre. I am digging the advertisement for the sequel however, it looks nice. A digital release through PSN and Live seems like a good place for a port of the sequel (since the graphics do not look very demanding.)
