And the winner of the HG101 3D Dot Heroes Competition is....

...Shantae, from the 2002 Game Boy Color game of the same name! It looks cool, shows some design prowess, and references one of the only portable games to fetch a going price in the triple digits. Congrats to hiryu64 for the great job, and he should be expecting a copy of the 3D Dot Heroes Original Soundtrack in the mail soon. You, reader, can also download his entry here.

There should be an actual update coming real soon, where you can see the rest for yourself too!

  1. Very original, I like it! I've been wanting Shantae for some time now. It's that one game that I hope I will find in a flea market some day. It won't happen, yeah, but I can dream...

  2. What ever happend to that new Shantae game? Wiiware sequel/remake or something.

    Also congrats to the winner!

and finally, when you say 'update' do you mean site update (new articles) or just new blog post with other entries? or both (please be noth :D!)

  3. @above Anon - both.
The new Shantae was supposed to be an episodic DSiWare game -- annoying to me, since I don't own a DSi. I keep hoping they'll just shift to retail card format and I'll be 115% onboard. But I haven't heard any news on it for awhile.

  4. Yeah, I was pretty bummed about it being a DSi downloadable game. The least they could do would be to put it as Wiiware as well.
